Frequently Asked Questions
How Is Membership Different from the PrusaLab Hardware Accelerator?
The PrusaLab Hardware Accelerator is a competitive program where selected winners receive funding worth hundreds of thousands of CZK to cover materials and development services. For six months, teams get dedicated space in PrusaLab to prototype and consult with our in-house experts and external mentors.
PrusaLab members, on the other hand, pay a fee to access our workshop, use the equipment, and consult with our technicians as they develop their projects independently.
Both options offer strong support — the key difference is whether you’re looking for a structured, funded program or flexible access to our makerspace.
How Much Does Membership Cost?
Josef Průša has long supported the development of hardware projects, which is why he subsidizes half the cost of membership. Thanks to this, an hour in the Lab costs just CZK 300.
What Are the Benefits of Membership?
As a PrusaLab member, you gain access to a cutting-edge technological workspace — currently featuring 40 3D printers (both FDM and SLA), a laser cutter, CNC machines, a manual workshop, and more.
You’ll also have the support of our skilled technicians, always ready to help with any challenge, and you’ll become part of a vibrant, helpful community full of inspiring members.
How Can I Pay for Membership?
The fee can be paid in two ways: by bank transfer or directly at the front desk (in cash or by card).
How Does Membership Work Day-to-Day?
We take an individual approach to every project — during your first meeting with us, you’ll be asked to estimate how much time you plan to spend working on your project at PrusaLab. This is just a rough guideline.
All members must complete an introductory training session on working safely in the space and using the machines, and agree to the workshop’s terms and conditions.
Can I Leave My Project in the Lab?
You can store smaller projects in the Lab short-term if you’re actively working on them. Unfortunately, space for large projects is limited. If there are long breaks between development phases, we kindly ask that you store your project elsewhere during those periods.
