Last year was literally for us kaleidoscope diverse projects, from commercial contracts, despite the big art installations, accelerator programme for startups and others educational activities, until several charitable projects.
Look at what we created last year and why it is never boring in PrusaLab.
Educational activities and mentoring
belongs to the most important areas we deal with. As part of our hardware startup development programme – PrusaLab hardware accelerator – we have been (and still are) working on the project by the winner of the previous round. You can look forward to its presentation this year, but only after the prototype has been completely finalised.
At the Prague and Brno festivals Maker Faire so that anyone interested in how this process could help them could try out our acceleration program in a short and fun way. Dry run accelerator it was primarily meant to entertain and inspire, but participants received real feedback on their ideas and their commercial potential.
We also helped to implement projects to our members, which is for example a promoter of robotic painting – Jakub Tajovský.
We also organised a meeting three times in total Meet the Makers, meaning an evening full of interesting guests from the fields of tech startups, art, as well as science, research and education.
On our public workshops It didn't stop at 3D printing; we also introduced the basics of the entire prototyping process.
And we also helped educate our colleagues as part of two internal workshops basics of robotics, during which they built and programmed a robot for painting Easter eggs.
Art entertains us
and challenging projects help us grow. We have created several artistic installations, which not only enchant, but also prove that technology can be beautiful.
One such example was the installation Nexus, which premiered on Signal Festival. It concerned the winner of the joint Signal Calling challenge, which we organised for the severalth time with the festival programme board.
The historical first winner of this challenge in 2019 was a kinetic sculpture Reflex. Since its premiere at Signal, it has already been presented at several other events, and this time it was the Swiss multi-genre festival Magic Park at Zurich Airport.
The third very interesting project became the production cymatic installations for the company Orlen Unipetrol, which made an impact with their zone at the Karlovy Vary film festival KVIFF and then later at the music festival Colours of Ostrava.
You can make all sorts of things
and our already quite varied custom portfolio is a little more colourful again. We helped print segments modular design furniture Weeds, we have manufactured skeleton of a giraffe life-sized replica space probes, special aid for eye surgery training, commemorative cup for footballer Peter Olayinka, silicone form for casting giant ice „cubes“ to cool beer kegs and many other interesting features.
Giving back
it is pivotal of PrusaLab and entire corporate groups Josefa Průši. As well as sharing know-how with the maker community, we also dedicate ourselves to helping those with health difficulties disadvantaged people (and newly also and animalsWe gave to the severely physically disabled boy fulfilled a wish own and to use a 3D printer, injured nohu Jeff the golden retriever strengthened bespoke brace and based on their illustrations, we have created a set for several children's books haptic models for blind people.
Looking back, we were ourselves a little surprised at everything we managed to achieve last year.
