The last remaining light bulb manufacturer in Bohemia explains when blue light helps and when, on the contrary, it harms people and other animals. And since Meet the Makers is mainly about inspiring stories of product development and starting a business, we also asked our guest how he develops and manufactures the Vitae biodynamic bulb itself and what “bulb sharing” is.
The video recording is in Czech.Hynek Medřický – researcher, conservationist and inventor of the biodynamic light bulb and pro-cognitive lighting. A lighting designer by profession, he has been designing and supplying lighting for homes, offices and other spaces for more than 30 years. Since 2021 he has been granted patent rights in the EU, the USA and Japan for a principle of indoor and outdoor lighting that affects the brain’s cognitive functions and the circadian rhythm of living organisms.
The 17th Meet the Makers, organised by the PrusaLab prototyping workshop together with the Make More initiative, focused on light. And who better to open this inspiring evening than Hynek.
