The IRMA smart handbag scores success in the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2025!
A huge success for Czech design and PrusaLab – the IRMA smart handbag, designed by Klára Šmakalová and Jakub Stedina, and developed within the PrusaLab hardware accelerator, has won the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2025! This innovative handbag, which combines modern technology with elegant craftsmanship, has thus ranked among the best design achievements in the world.
What is the iF DESIGN AWARD?
This award is among the most prestigious in the world and has been presented since 1954 by the German organisation iF Design. Every year, thousands of innovative products from around the globe enter the competition, and the competition is enormous. This year, nearly 11,000 entries from 66 countries, with the evaluation panel consisting of 131 renowned designers selecting the very best. Among them is now also the Czech project IRMA!
IRMA at PrusaLab
The development of the IRMA smart handbag took place to a large extent right here in our PrusaLab hardware accelerator. Thanks to access to prototyping technologies, the development team and the support of experienced mentors, Klára and Jakub were able to move the project from the original idea all the way to functional pre-production pieces. After presenting at Demo Day and launching on the market, they also secured a multi-million-crown investment from Josef Průša.
