When poetics meets technology, things are created that not only work - but also shine. Literally. Michaela Doležalová, author of the brand Jasna, is an exceptional artist who transforms handmade paper into luminous objects with a story to tell. And we at PrusaLab are thrilled to have been part of her journey.
From floral waste to light
Michaela – or rather Jasna – moves on the borderline between art, design and environmental activism. She gathers flowers that others no longer want: from cemeteries, florists' shops and even from Christmas trees. She gives these seemingly forgotten plants a new life in the form of light fittings that emit not only light, but also a story. The entire production process is sustainable, slow, thorough and (until recently) also relatively time-consuming.

And then came PrusaLab
Our cooperation with Michaela arose within pilot project for creative vouchers, which we launched as a new support tool for makers and creators with an original vision. Michaela approached us with an idea for 3D-printed screen for the production of handmade paper segments. The challenge? To replace several different tools with a single, functional unit.
The result? A modular, multi-part sieve that not only saves time and energy, but also brings greater precision, repeatability and comfort to the work. Thanks to it, Michaela can fully immerse herself in what she enjoys most – selecting natural ingredients, experimenting and the creation itself.
Jasna recently took part in an exhibition Floralis Temple in the gallery The Design (February–March 2025). The installation, made of light and paper, captivated visitors with its delicacy, its story and its sustainable approach. A series of limited-edition lampshades and a DIY collection demonstrate that beauty can emerge from what others consider to be waste.
