At PrusaLab we love projects that stem from a real need. And such is the story of MIRNIX HOCKEY<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 of a startup that decided to solve hockey equipment drying problem<\/strong>. At Demo Day, we proudly presented the result of several months of acceleration in\u00a0PrusaLab hardware accelerator<\/strong> \u2013 practical hockey clothes hanger \u201eThe Hooking<\/strong>\u201c, which helps hockey players to dry and organise their kit more efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did the journey go from the initial idea to the finished product ready for sale?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MIRNIX HOCKEY: From concept to market-ready product<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Founders Mat\u011bj Raiter <\/strong>a\u00a0Tom\u00e1\u0161 Mula\u010d<\/strong> they knew that drying ice hockey equipment is a never-ending battle. Poor air circulation<\/strong>, smell<\/strong>, bacteria<\/strong>, lack of space<\/strong> \u2013 every player knows this. And so they decided to come up with\u00a0compact<\/strong>, durable ergonomic clothes hanger<\/strong>, which will help to resolve this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their idea succeeded in the selection for PrusaLab hardware accelerator<\/strong>, which meant only one thing: intense multi-month development process<\/strong>, testing <\/strong>a\u00a0strategic planning<\/strong>, so that a great idea becomes a successful product and a sustainable business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

What happened during the acceleration?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In PrusaLab, start-ups are not just met with a workshop full of various manufacturing technologies, but also practical help with\u00a0key aspects of production <\/strong>a\u00a0product launch<\/strong>. At MIRNIX HOCKEY we focused on three main areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Development of plastic components using 3D printing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Developing a physical product is always a challenge \u2013 especially when it comes to\u00a0durable <\/strong>a\u00a0lightweight plastic parts<\/strong>, which must bear the weight of the entire hockey kit while also being compact. The leading role <\/strong>played 3D printers<\/strong> a\u00a0Prusa filaments<\/strong>, thanks to which we were able to quickly test various design variants and optimise the shape for maximum strength and functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Packaging as part of the product<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Another key part was packaging optimisation<\/strong>, on which MIRNIX HOCKEY collaborated with one of our tried-and-tested suppliers, the company Unipap<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Result? cardboard box filler <\/strong>at the same time it serves as display stand for a coat hanger <\/strong>in the shop, which eliminates the need for additional promotional materials and facilitates sales in brick-and-mortar stores as well as at sporting events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Mentoring strategy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To know HOW<\/strong> It is not enough just to manufacture a product. It must be clear how to get it to customers, how to finance the sustainable development of the company, and how to protect the unique design and features. That is why MIRNIX HOCKEY underwent intensive mentoring in key areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
