This interactive installation, originally intended to delight visitors of the Signal Festival as part of an open call <strong>Signal Calling<\/strong>, has come a long way and achieved great success since its inception in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/prusalab.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Zivy-les-Video.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a9 Signal Festival<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About Signal Calling and Living Forest<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Signal Calling<\/strong> is a unique Signal Festival platform that gives young artists and innovators the chance to present their ideas to the general public. The installation <strong>Living Forest<\/strong> was one of those ideas that won over both the expert jury and the public. The work combines technology and nature and invites visitors to keep the forest \u201calive\u201d through their activity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entire interactivity consisted of visitors being able to bring the installation to life by inserting a coin into a special machine. The coins activated light and sound effects, making the forest \u201ccome alive\u201d. This unique experience, where visitors directly contributed to charity, was enthusiastically received not only in the Czech Republic, but also at international festivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-d2c06bc1\"><span class=\"gb-icon\"><svg aria-hidden=\"true\" height=\"1em\" width=\"1em\" viewbox=\"0 0 448 512\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path fill=\"currentColor\" d=\"M96 224C84.72 224 74.05 226.3 64 229.9V224c0-35.3 28.7-64 64-64c17.67 0 32-14.33 32-32S145.7 96 128 96C57.42 96 0 153.4 0 224v96c0 53.02 42.98 96 96 96s96-42.98 96-96S149 224 96 224zM352 224c-11.28 0-21.95 2.305-32 5.879V224c0-35.3 28.7-64 64-64c17.67 0 32-14.33 32-32s-14.33-32-32-32c-70.58 0-128 57.42-128 128v96c0 53.02 42.98 96 96 96s96-42.98 96-96S405 224 352 224z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/span><span class=\"gb-headline-text\"><em>\u201cSeeing the dedication, particularly of our child visitors, who took their task of keeping the forest alive with the utmost responsibility, was invaluable and filled me with joy and hope that future generations will know how to care for their environment\u201d<\/em> recalls author Kate\u0159ina Blahutov\u00e1.<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Journey of the Living Forest around World Festivals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Living Forest's success at <strong>Signal Festival 2021<\/strong> was followed by a journey around festivals and cultural events worldwide. Its most notable stops included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Let's Fly Exhibition, Balloon Museum Rome (2021)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Winter Festival, Iceland (2022)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>List \u00ed Lj\u00f3si festival, Iceland (2022)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Blik Blik, Plze\u0148 (2023)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prusaparty, Prague (2024)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At each of these locations, the installation was met with a great response and provided visitors with an unforgettable experience of interacting with art that responds to their presence and activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Charitable projects supported by proceeds<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Living Forest not only brought joy and inspiration, but also contributed to a range of charitable projects and organisations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Signal Festival<\/strong>: proceeds from the collections went to the <strong>S\u00e1z\u00edme stromy (We Plant Trees)<\/strong>initiative, which focuses on restoring greenery in urban areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Balloon Museum Rome<\/strong>: the proceeds supported the <strong>Fridays for Future \u2013 Beyond Burning<\/strong>project, which fights for climate justice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vetrarh\u00e1t\u00ed\u00f0 and List \u00ed Lj\u00f3si, Iceland<\/strong>: the funds were donated to the <strong>Icelandic Wetlands Fund<\/strong> to protect wetlands.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Blik Blik, Plze\u0148<\/strong>: contributions went to the <strong>Plze\u0148 Animal Rescue Station<\/strong>, which looks after injured and abandoned animals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prusaparty<\/strong>: the contribution went to 6-year-old <strong>Artur<\/strong>, who needs a bone marrow transplant. Prusa Research's management also doubled the proceeds of the collection to help secure the treatment he needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>In conclusion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The end of the <strong>Living Forest<\/strong> installation is admittedly a sad moment, but also a celebration of the incredible journey this installation has taken.
