Journalists and investors at the recent Demo Day<\/strong> were introduced to the project from the previous round of the PrusaLab hardware accelerator<\/strong> \u2013 the smart handbag IRMA<\/strong>. This unique product, designed by Kl\u00e1ra \u0160makalov\u00e1<\/strong> in collaboration with designer Jakub Stedina<\/strong>, is not just a stylish fashion item<\/strong>, but also a practical helper<\/strong>whose features increase the safety<\/strong> and comfort <\/strong>of its wearer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than just a fashion accessory<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Besides its attractive look, IRMA brings many innovations aimed at making women safer when they are out and about in the evening. <\/strong>The handbag is equipped with several safety features<\/strong>that can be a real help in crisis situations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its main features include a powerful light<\/strong>, a 120 dB alarm<\/strong>, a GPS locator<\/strong>, an NFC chip<\/strong> and a MagSafe charger<\/strong> for smartphones. Thanks to these features, the handbag can not only provide light on the way<\/strong>, but also a but also dazzle <\/strong>a potential attacker<\/strong> or instantly alert people nearby <\/strong>with a loud alarm<\/strong>. And although it may not seem so at first glance, the phone charging<\/strong> function is also a safety feature \u2013 you simply can't call for help with a dead phone. Kl\u00e1ra \u0160makalov\u00e1, who previously ran the successful women's fashion brand Akari, and Jakub Stedina, who has extensive experience in industrial design, decided to create a handbag that responds to the real needs of women in the modern world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entirely up to you<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of IRMA's key features is its modularity<\/strong>. The handbag is designed so that its owners can swap the side pockets <\/strong>to suit their current needs or mood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the future, other practical modules could be added, such as a speaker (or a bento box), as well as limited editions<\/strong> of side pockets created in collaboration with renowned fashion designers<\/strong>, product designers <\/strong>and artists<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Acceleration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The IRMA project received significant support within the PrusaLab hardware accelerator. Besides financial backing and intensive mentoring, our experts designed <\/strong>and tested the technical solution <\/strong>and made the first working prototype<\/strong>. This process took 12 months, right here in our Hole\u0161ovice workshop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ready for market<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

IRMA should go on sale as early as this autumn. The base model will cost around CZK 15,000, while the prices of special editions will vary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The handbag is getting ready for its official launch<\/strong> at the Blickfang<\/strong> design fair in Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's next?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kl\u00e1ra \u0160makalov\u00e1 and Jakub Stedina plan to keep improving the IRMA handbag. Their goal is for IRMA to be not just a seasonal hit, but a long-term partner <\/strong>for all women looking for a combination of style <\/strong>and safety<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
